Chapter 1 Enduring Tribulation and Boasting of Emunah Before the Righteous Mishpat of Elohim
1
Sha’ul, and Silvanus, and Timotheos, to the kehillah (assembly) of the Thessalonians in Elohim Avinu (God our Father) and Adon Yeshua HaMashiach.
2
Chesed (grace) to you, and shalom from Elohim Avinu and Adon Yeshua HaMashiach.
3
We are bound to give thanks always to Elohim for you, achim (brothers), as is fitting, because your emunah (faith) grows exceedingly, and the ahavah (love) of every one of you toward each other abounds.
4
So that we ourselves boast of you among the kehillot (assemblies) of Elohim for your patience and emunah in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure,
5
Which is evidence of the righteous mishpat (judgment) of Elohim, that you may be counted worthy of the malchut (kingdom) of Elohim, for which you also suffer.
6
Since it is a righteous thing with Elohim to repay tribulation to those who trouble you,
7
And to give you who are troubled rest with us, when Adon Yeshua shall be revealed from the shamayim (heavens) with the malachim (angels) of His power,
8
In flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who do not know Elohim, and on those who do not obey the Besorah (Good News) of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach.
9
These shall suffer everlasting punishment—destruction from the presence of Adon and from the kavod (glory) of His power,
10
When He comes to be glorified in His kedoshim (saints) and to be marveled at among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed in that day.
11
Therefore we also pray always for you, that Elohim would make you worthy of His calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of emunah with power,
12
That the Name of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the chesed (grace) of Elohim and Adon Yeshua HaMashiach.
Chapter 2 Standing Firm Against Deception, the Sod Ha’avon, and the Rasha
1
Now we beseech you, achim (brothers), by the coming of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach and our gathering together to Him,
2
That you not be quickly shaken in mind or troubled, neither by ruach (spirit), nor by word, nor by iggeret (epistle) as if from us, as though the Yom of Adon were already at hand.
3
Let no one deceive you by any means, for that day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the ish ha’chet (man of sin) is revealed, the son of perdition,
4
Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshiped, so that he sits in the Beit HaElohim (Temple of God), showing himself as if he were Elohim.
5
Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6
And now you know what restrains, that he may be revealed in his time.
7
For the sod ha’avon (mystery of iniquity) is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8
And then the rasha (lawless one) will be revealed, whom Adon Yeshua will slay with the Ruach of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9
The coming of that one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10
And with all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the ahavah (love) of the truth, that they might be saved. For this reason Elohim will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
11
That all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
12
But we are bound to give thanks to Elohim always for you, achim beloved of Adon, because Elohim chose you as firstfruits for yeshuah (salvation) through sanctification by the Ruach and emunah (faith) in the truth.
13
To this He called you by our Besorah (Good News), for the obtaining of the kavod (glory) of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach.
14
Therefore, achim, stand firm and hold fast the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or by our iggeret.
15
Now Adon Yeshua HaMashiach Himself, and Elohim Avinu (our Father), who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good tikvah (hope) through chesed (grace),
16
Comfort your levavot (hearts) and establish you in every good word and work.
Chapter 3 Withdrawing from the Disorderly and Living and Laboring Quietly in Adon
1
Finally, achim (brothers), pray for us, that the word of Elohim may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it is among you.
2
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men, for not all have emunah (faith).
3
But Elohim is faithful, who will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
4
And we have confidence in Adon concerning you, that the things we command you, you both do and will continue to do.
5
And may Adon direct your levavot (hearts) into the ahavah (love) of Elohim and into the patience of Mashiach.
6
Now we command you, achim, in the Name of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach, that you withdraw from every ach (brother) who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
7
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, for we were not disorderly among you.
8
Nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying, but in labor and toil we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.
9
Not because we do not have the authority, but to make ourselves a pattern for you to imitate.
10
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
11
For we hear that some among you walk disorderly, not working at all, but being busybodies.
12
Now those who are such we command and exhort through Adon Yeshua HaMashiach that they work quietly and eat their own bread.
13
But you, achim, do not grow weary in doing good.
14
And if anyone does not obey our word in this iggeret (epistle), note that man and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15
Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as an ach.
16
Now may Adon of shalom Himself give you shalom always in every way. Adon be with you all.
17
The greeting of Sha’ul with my own hand, which is a sign in every iggeret; so I write.
18
The chesed (grace) of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach be with you all. Amen.
