A Quick Overview of the Zadok Priestly Calendar

👑 David's Preparations and the Priestly Order

"Solomon my son is young and untested, and the house…for Yahuah is to be very great…so I will make ready what is needed for it."
— 1 Chronicles 22:5, BBE

David reigned 33 years over the united nation, purposing to build for Yahuah in Jerusalem, though he did not see it completed.

One of David's first moves (1 Chronicles 24) was to divide the Levites:

  • Service before Yahuah
  • Singers and musicians
  • Gatekeepers/guards

Lots were drawn for priestly divisions: sixteen families from Zadok (Eleazar's line) and eight from Ahimelech (Ithamar's line). Zadok and Ahimelech served as high priests in David's reign.

📅 Core Features of the Zadok Priestly Calendar

  • ✦ Uses sun, moon, stars, and the 24 priestly courses as coordinated witnesses
  • ✦ Preserves the seven-day cycle set apart from Creation (Genesis)
  • ✦ Year length: 364 days, structured as 12 months of 30 days with an added day at the end of each season (30–30–31 pattern)
  • ✦ Weekly cycle: 52 Sabbaths annually. Festival Sabbaths never displace the weekly Shabbat; feasts never begin on the weekly Sabbath

🔄 Intercalation (Adjustment)

A complete week is intercalated at the end of the sixth year to realign the cycle (stars as witness, cf. 1 Enoch 82).

👨‍⚕️ Understanding the Priestly Courses

There are 24 priestly families (1 Chronicles 24), rotating weekly through a continuous six-year macro-cycle. The family serving at the start of each year in the six-year cycle:

Year 1: Gamul Year 2: Yedaiah Year 3: Miyamin Year 4: Shecaniah Year 5: Yeshebeab Year 6: Aphses

Why This Order Matters:

  • The seven-day Shabbat remains unbroken across years
  • Each family serves a total of thirteen weeks over the six years
  • Gamul and Shecaniah alternate as the first-course "sign" (ot) every three years, indicating when an additional 30-day month is recognized so that three lunar years (3 × 354 = 1062) with the added 30 days match three solar years (3 × 364 = 1092) across the course (cf. DSS 4Q319)

🌙 The Role of the Moon

  • Without the moon's correct sign, years go astray and sabbatical/Jubilee sequences cannot be kept accurately (cf. Jubilees 6:33–38 as understood here)
  • The moon's function is a witnessing sign within the priestly/calendar system—not for counting ordinary days, months, and years

📜 Priestly–Lunar Correlations in the Dead Sea Scrolls

Using A New Translation: The Dead Sea Scrolls, fragments such as 4Q320 record:

  • A full moon on Day 4 (Wednesday), Month 1, Day 1 in Year 1 with Gamul serving
  • Another full moon on Day 5 (Thursday), lunar day 29, which coincides with solar Month 1, Day 30 under Yedaiah

Modern correlations reported:

  • 2019: 25+ matches of priestly courses with moon phases, weekdays, Sabbaths, and feast days
  • 2020 (Year 2): nine matches
  • 2023 (Year 5): seven matches

🌍 Equinox, Equilux, and the Six-Year Course

Initial conclusion (2019–2022): begin the year at the spring equinox.

Expanded review (2019–2024) using Geza Vermes, The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls:

  • No intercalary week was added within those six years
  • Conclusion: intercalation is governed by the completion of the six-year priestly course—not by equinox alone
  • When intercalated at the end of the six-year cycle, sabbatical and Jubilee patterns align with DSS records—Gamul finishes the last three days of the sixth course, a seven-day intercalary week follows, then Gamul completes his full service week at the start of the next six-year cycle

🎺 Jubilee Structure & the 2019 "Creation Week"

One Jubilee macro-period is presented as 49 cycles of a six-year priestly course (6 × 49 = 294 years).

March 20, 2019 marked:

  • The start of the 295th year (50th/Jubilee year) and Year 1 of a new 294-year count, with Gamul returning
  • A "creation week" alignment: Equilux on Day 1 (Sunday); on Day 4 (Wednesday), equinox and full moon coincident with Month 1, Day 1—mirroring the pattern of Genesis 1 as interpreted here
  • Because this alignment is rare, it is taken as a call from Yahuah and Yeshua to a united people to return to the creation-order calendar entrusted to the sons of Zadok

✨ Historical & Modern Validation (1432 AD - 2050 AD)

Lunar Cycle Confirmation Across Centuries

After conducting straightforward calculations over several years of lunar cycles, full moons were identified coinciding with Gamul in:

  • 1432 AD
  • 1726 AD
  • Similar patterns extending to 2050 AD

By utilizing the Zadok Priestly courses, we confirmed that the same patterns observed in the Dead Sea Scrolls remain consistent across nearly 700 years of historical data.

Intercalation Principle Validated:

An additional week is always added at the end of the sixth year, marking the beginning of the seventh year, which also serves as the first year of the subsequent six-year cycle.

🌌 2024 Discovery: Constellation Witness

After several years of watching the Constellations, a solid witness to the intercalation week was discovered in 2024.

March 11-12, 2024:
• Sun entered Pisces (♓)
March 13, 2024:
• Year 6 of the priestly cycle begins with Aphses
September 14, 2024:
• Sun entered Virgo (♍)
• This was the 1st day of the 7th month on the Zadok Priestly Calendar
✓ Everything matching the six-year cycle perfectly
March 11, 2025:
• Day 364 of Year 6 concludes
• Year 1 begins again
• Time to add the intercalation week
• Pisces as our celestial witness 🌟

Astronomical Significance: The constellations serve as heavenly witnesses to the intercalary week, just as the sun, moon, and stars were given as signs for "seasons" (mo'edim) in Genesis 1:14. Pisces marking the transition validates the divine order of the Zadok calendar across millennia.

This multi-century validation—from 1432 AD through 2024's constellation witness to projections extending to 2050—demonstrates the Zadok Priestly Calendar's consistent accuracy and divine design across nearly 700 years of observable data.

🌾 Shmita & Jubilee Cycles

Shmita (שְׁמִטָּה) - Sabbatical Year

Every 7th year, the land rests. No planting or harvesting. Debts are forgiven.

Yovel (יוֹבֵל) - Jubilee Year

After 7 cycles of 7 years (49 years), the 50th year is Jubilee. All return to their inheritance.

"You shall count seven Sabbaths of years...49 years. Then you shall sound the horn...and consecrate the 50th year." — Leviticus 25:8-10

🙏 Prayer of Repentance & Return

For the Restoration of Yahuah's Appointed Times

"Return to Me, and I will return to you, says Yahuah of hosts." — Malachi 3:7

A Prayer of Teshuvah (Turning Back)

Acknowledgment of Sin:

Yahuah Elohim, Father of our Master Yeshua HaMashiach, I come before You with a broken and contrite heart. I acknowledge that I have sinned against You by neglecting Your holy appointed times—Your sacred Shabbats, Your mo'edim, Your Shmita years, and Your Jubilees.

I confess that I have walked in the ways of the nations, following their calendars and their appointed times rather than Yours. I have treated as common what You declared holy. I have ignored the rhythms You established from Creation, the cycles You ordained through Your servants Enoch and the sons of Zadok.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also will forget your children." — Hosea 4:6

Confession of Neglect:

  • Shabbat: I have profaned Your weekly Sabbath, the sign of Your covenant, treating the seventh day as common rather than set-apart. I have worked when You commanded rest, and ignored the memorial of Your creative work.
  • Mo'edim: I have forsaken Your appointed times—Pesach, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot—replacing them with the festivals of men. I have missed the prophetic rehearsals You established to point to the work of Mashiach.
  • Shmita: I have not honored the sabbatical years for the land. I have not released debts or freed servants as You commanded. I have trusted in my own labor rather than in Your provision.
  • Jubilee: I have ignored the ultimate year of restoration, failing to proclaim liberty and return to inheritance as You decreed. I have allowed permanent bondage and loss where You ordained freedom and restoration.

"Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am Yahuah. You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Yisrael. I am Yahuah who sanctifies you, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: I am Yahuah." — Leviticus 22:31-33

Declaration of Repentance:

Father Yahuah, I repent of my rebellion and ignorance. I turn away from the traditions of men that make void Your Word. I renounce the solar-lunar calendars of the nations and the compromised systems that have displaced Your creation-order calendar.

By the blood of Yeshua HaMashiach, I ask for cleansing from these transgressions. Forgive me for the generations of neglect. Forgive me for treating lightly what You declared weighty. Forgive me for preferring convenience over obedience, and tradition over truth.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." — 1 John 1:9

Commitment to Restoration:

Yahuah, I commit myself to return to Your ways. I will honor Your Shabbat from sunset to sunset on the seventh day. I will observe Your mo'edim according to Your calendar—the 364-day pattern entrusted to the sons of Zadok, validated by the heavenly witnesses of sun, moon, and stars.

I will teach my household Your appointed times. I will prepare my heart for Shmita years, trusting in Your supernatural provision. I will proclaim and celebrate the Jubilee, acknowledging that You are the true Owner of all things and the Liberator of Your people.

I will study Your Word diligently to understand these times. I will gather with those who seek to walk in Your ways. I will be a witness to this generation, calling others to return to the ancient paths where the good way is.

"Thus says Yahuah: 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.'" — Jeremiah 6:16

Through Yeshua HaMashiach:

I acknowledge that Yeshua, the Living Torah, perfectly kept all Your appointed times. He is our Pesach Lamb, our Firstfruits, our High Priest on Yom Kippur, and He will return to tabernacle with us. He came to fulfill, not to abolish. Through His sacrifice, I have access to Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find help in time of need.

It is in His merit, not my own, that I can return. It is by His blood that I am cleansed. It is through His Ruach HaQodesh (Holy Spirit) that I receive strength to walk in obedience.

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Torah till all is fulfilled." — Matthew 5:17-18

Closing Petition:

Yahuah Elohim, establish my steps in Your paths. Let Your mo'edim be a delight to my soul. Make me faithful in Shabbat rest. Grant me wisdom to prepare for Shmita and celebrate Jubilee. Use me as a light to others who are awakening to these truths.

Restore what the locusts have eaten. Rebuild the ancient ruins. Raise up the foundations of many generations. Let me be called a repairer of the breach, a restorer of paths to dwell in.

In the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach, the King of kings and Master of the Sabbath,

Amein v'Amein
(So be it, and so be it)

"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten...and you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied." — Joel 2:25-26

On Covenant:

"But this is the covenant...I will put My Torah in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people." — Jeremiah 31:33

On Obedience:
